NLF Training carries out an emergency first aid at work course that lasts for one day or you can take the regular first aid course for three days. Our paediatric first aid course lasts for two days.
The work first aid course covers:
- Roles and responsibilities (emergency course)
- Casualty assessment (emergency course)
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (emergency course)
- AED usage (emergency course)
- Choking, bleeding and shock (emergency course)
- Dealing with minor injuries (emergency course)
- Bones, muscles and joints
- Head, neck and spinal injuries
- Chest and eye injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Anaphylaxis
- Major illnesses
- Poisoning
Our paediatric first aid course is aimed at individuals in the workplace with a responsibility for infants and children. It meets the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements and this qualification usually takes 16 hours. Topics include your roles and responsibilities, providing first aid for children who are unresponsive, have head or spinal injuries, suffer choking or have anaphylaxis.
The paediatric first aid course is assessed by a practical demonstration and written/oral questioning.
